Hibiscus Livre d’or

Many of our guest in Hibiscus come back, so they must like  it, but we have left out some of the repetitions!

Thank you for a lovely week. We think we have found our favourite area of Brittany. . . We have cycled and walked around the local area. Roche Bernard is a beautiful little town and we enjoyed a beautiful meal at Le Vieux Quartier. We also had a lovely meal at the Auberge du Passeur: make a fuss of his dog and the patron looks after you. Paul and Mandy, N.Devon, November 2014

La Ruelmain and the river valley are always wonderfully calm, and Hibiscus seemed especially comfortable this time. Many many thanks. Tim and Alison, Hurstpierpoint, August 2104

Another delightful stay in Hibiscus Cottage. The weather was mixed but didn’t prevent us from relaxing and sitting in the garden as often as possible. Thank you for letting us be here yet again in an oasis of peace and quiet. Liz and Roger, Witney, August 2014

It was wonderful time! Because of weather, lovely Daff and Charles, plenty of interesting places around. We loved to have breakfast in the beautiful garden, to taste the famous wine and cheese, and fruits de mer in the cosy cottage in the evenings. Thank you so much for your hospitality, wise advices and unforgettable evenings we’ve spent together with you. See you someday, somewhere, again. Olga and Dmitry, Moscow July 2014

All week has been haymaking, baling and gathering in in the fine warm weather, with accompanying smells of hay and honeysuckle. River is great for swimming in and only 5 minutes away thanks to the use of Daff’s bike – Sally. All helped by the excellent detail maps provided in the cottage – Julian.Sally and Julian, Shepperton, June 2014

Love the cottage, warm and cosy, and very peaceful apart from torrential rain and gale-force winds! We had our wellies so it didn’t matter. Hope to visit again very soon. David and Sally, N. Devon, February 2014

Lots of rest, peace and quiet. Adventures of getting lost and finding our way back home every time we went out. A world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. An unforgettable holiday with Charles as our neighbour.  John and Paula, Essex, September 2013

A wonderful birding spot, very peaceful and some great habitats. Got a good bird list and managed to get 3 ‘lifers’, i.e. blue throat, black kite, and Kentish plover. Caroline and Brian, Hampton Hill, May 2010

What a joy to come back to Hibiscus after a day working on our boat. It was lovely to warm up in front of the log fire, and the cooker worked fine in -8 ºC after a switch to propane. We’re looking forward to staying again. John and Dominique, Stoke Poges, January 2009.

A wonderful 10 days’ holiday. We have biked in all directions and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the quite roads and woodland paths. We think that Hibiscus is ‘ours’ and hope that everyone who stays there does too. Tim and Alison, Sussex, August 2008

I have enjoyed every moment here . . . such peace and tranquillity. Jean, Halifax, August 2008

We’ve spent a wonderful 8 days being able to relax and drink plenty of cider and wine and eat too much pate (from the charcuterie in St Dolay) and too much bread (from the wonderful boulangerie in St D), not to mention the moules and galettes. Vicky and Ian, Oundle, August 2007

An idyllic rural retreat in ‘La France profonde’. The view from the garden is superb, day and night! The sky is breathtaking on a clear night. Jean-Pierre and Geeta , Bromley, August 2007
